The small print for the public beta of The Last Fire: Vigil for the Dying Moon, in plain English.
A work in progress
The Last Fire is a public beta. It is offered free and as it is, without warranty of any kind. Things may break, change or be taken away, and a saved game may not survive from one build to the next. You play at your own risk.
Flashing light
The game has flashing light, fire and fast movement, including bright flashes in fights and in the bosses' attacks. If you, or anyone in your family, has epilepsy or has had a seizure, talk to a doctor before you play. Stop at once if you feel dizzy, unwell or your sight changes.
In Settings, Reduced motion stills the opening crawl, the level-up flourishes and the map's slide, and Screen shake and Hit-stop can be turned down to 0 %. They do not remove every flash.
Privacy
- Your saved game and your settings stay in this browser, in its local storage, with a few reminders (that you have seen the opening crawl, and which version of the game you chose). They are never sent anywhere. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.
- There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no ads.
- Every page loads its own files only: no fonts, scripts or pictures from other sites, and the pages' security policy forbids it.
- The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it sees the ordinary details of a request (the page asked for, your address, your browser), and it may collect reports of network errors from your browser. The game adds nothing to that.
